Abstract

The report presented at the Senate's Environment Commission focuses on several essential points, including the following: the need for politicians to become more "involved" in environmental topics; including them in their objectives and strategies, the importance of understanding citizens' needs as well as reducing the red tape involved in certain procedures in order to associate the environment with safety and sustainable development. Finally, a non-comprehensive list is given of some of the actions which seem to be the most urgent.
